Sinopsis: Esta es la historia del tráfico y explotación sexual en la
frontera entre México y los Estados Unidos. Un policía, con una historia
familiar que lo involucra emocionalmente con el tráfico sexual, se involucra
con una pareja de hermanos mexicanos: una niña raptada y el hermano que la
busca. Aqui se muestra crudamente los riesgos a lo que se exponen las personas
que desean ingresa ilegalmente a USA a través de la frontera mexicana.
Dos chicas procedentes de mundos muy diferentes terminan en el mundo
de la prostitución y la explotación sexual. Una de ellas es una chica rumana
forzada a ello para obtener una mejor vida en los Estados Unidos. La otra, una
chica mejicana, inmigrante ilegal en los EE.UU., que es forzada a ello para
evitar ser denunciados por un agente corrupto.
En Trade se narra la investigación de un policía en México encargado
de buscar a una chica de 13 años que ha sido secuestrada por una organización
dedicada al tráfico sexual. Su búsqueda en los bajos fondos se convertirá en
una pesadilla.

por parte de Sergey Karpovich, un oscuro personaje que bajo la tapadera de una
agencia tiene en su poder a cientos de mujeres que trabajan como esclavas
sexuales.... Cuando una joven de dieciseis años procedente de Ucrania, una
madre soltera originaria de Rusia, una joven de diecisiete años de Rumanía y
una joven turista son víctimas de una red de tráfico de mujeres para la
prostitución, el equipo de agentes de ICE, que lucha por desenmascarar la
organización que articula este horror, descubre una conspiración de
proporciones globales…
PS: Esta película fue dividida en dos partes y echaron en la
tele como una serie. Está bien hecha, y creo que esta debería estar en nuestro
forum.

las demás mujeres serán golpeadas, violadas y vendidas en subasta. Pasarán de
unas manos a otras, convertidas en mercancía destina-da al club que regenta
Hanna. Son víctimas de una red internacional de trata de blancas. Ya en el
local, Diana pide ayuda a una periodista, y ese encuentro es el único signo de
esperanza en medio del descenso a los infiernos protagonizado por unas mujeres
a las que explotan por igual los dos bandos en conflicto permanente.
The Day My God Died (2003)

This film is one of the best documentaries I
have ever seen. Mr. Levine is able to open your eyes as well as your hearts to
the nightmare these girls live everyday. It stirred such an emotion in me that
I immediately wanted to be in Nepal to help save these young girls from the
brutalities they face on a daily basis. It is beautifully written, superbly and
dangerously filmed, an editing masterpiece and the music blends all the
incredible pieces together magnificently. When a director is able to make an
audience weep from the story he/she is telling then they have done what they
have set out to do. I don't believe I saw one dry eye come out of this film.
Mr. Levine did such an incredible job representing the horrors of the sex slave
trade and these girls, that it causes tears, chills, anger, guilt, hope and a
sense of longing to come to these young girls aid. I can't wait to see what Mr.
Levine has for us next.

Trading Women enters the worlds of brothel
owners, trafficked girls, voluntary sex workers, corrupt police and anxious
politicians. Filmed in Burma, China, Laos, and Thailand, this is the first film
to follow the trade in women in all its complexity and to consider the impact
of this 'far away' problem on the global community.
Narrated by Oscar-winning actress Angelina
Jolie, the documentary investigates the trade in minority girls and women from
the hill tribes of Burma, Laos and China, into the Thai sex industry. Filmed on
location in China, Thailand and Burma, Trading Women follows the trade of women
in all its complexity, entering the worlds of brothel owners, trafficked girls,
voluntary sex-workers, corrupt police and anxious politicians. The film also
explores the international community's response to the issue.
The culmination of five years of field
research, Trading Women is the first film to demonstrate to viewers the relationship
of the trade in drugs to the trade of women. The film dispels common beliefs
about the sex trade, such as: "The problem is the parents - it's part of
their culture to sell their daughters;" "The sex trade exists because
of Western sex tours;" and "They sell their girls for TV's."
"We take the audience behind the tourist
tales and stereotyped news coverage to reveal the reality behind the
myths," said David A. Feingold, the noted documentarian who wrote and
directed Trading Women. "We show how much of what the audience thinks they
know about the issue is much more complex than they imagined."
Thirty years ago, there was a thriving sex
industry in Thailand, but there were no minority girls in it - what happened?
The film cites the destruction of the traditional upland economy by a
combination of well-meaning development and opium suppression programs in
Thailand, and civil unrest, economic dislocation, and political repression in
Burma as the answer to this question. These environmental and political factors
have resulted in threats to both the physical and cultural survival of the
highland minorities. Today, while hill tribe girls are perhaps thirty percent
of the total number of sex workers in Thailand, they are disproportionately
represented relative to their total numbers in the population. Moreover, they
are employed in the lowest, most exploitative part of the industry.
Trading Women examines the choices that hill
tribe women make, and how these choices are constrained by the economic and
political conditions in which they find themselves. The documentary explores
how the politics of Burma determines the supply of women to the sex industry in
Thailand and how the lack of citizenship for hill tribe women puts them at a
greater risk for trafficking.
Trading Women also addresses the international
response to the issue. "We find that it is an issue that, in the words of
one United Nations official generates 'far more heat, than light'," said
Feingold. The United States has passed a law that would block World Bank loans
or other non-humanitarian aid to any country that does not meet America's
minimum standards for combating trafficking. "Some believe this might be
counter-productive - bringing little help to the victims and pushing the
problem further underground," said Feingold.
Trading Women conveys that this is not a simple
issue with simple answers. It is an issue that affects the futures not only of
young tribal women, but also of their communities.

indictment, the film reveals that affluent peacekeeping forces have been some
of the burgeoning industry’s most solvent customers, allowing the sex trade to
get a foothold in the region and paving the way for its expansion. Jurschick
confronts UN officials and aid workers, goes on a raid with international
police, and reveals the tragic stories of the trafficked women themselves to
unravel the many layers of this complicated crime scene.

Descripción: Ésta es la historia
de Elisa, cuyo sueño es montar una peluquería en Montevideo. Sin recursos y con

convierte en prostituta. Cuando conoce y se enamora del proxeneta Plácido,
todos sus sueños le parecen alcanzables. Elisa junto con su novio y su amiga
Lulú viajan a Europa y se instalan en Barcelona como inmigrantes ilegales,
esperando ganar "miles de dólares". Pero las decepciones no cesan:
tiene que trabajar en la calle como prostituta, su novio la maltrata, y las
peleas entre las prostitutas uruguayas y los travestis brasileños incrementan.
La muerte de Lulú en un tiroteo hace que Elisa deba tomar una importante
decisión entre su idealizada lealtad a Plácido y la dura realidad, la cual
supone su colaboración con un policía de buen corazón. Esta decisión se hace
más fácil para Elisa cuando se entera de que sus hijos han sido internados en
un orfanato, debido a que Plácido nunca envió dinero para mantenerlos, tal y
como había prometido.
